Aumbry Kitchen

Built

c. 1480

Listing

Grade II

Scope

Repair, interiors, joinery

Duration

11 months

Area

95 m²

A manor kitchen with its stone aumbries cleaned, its range relined and new oak fitted around them.

The kitchen of a fifteenth-century manor, with two stone aumbries in the north wall and a range that had not been lit since 1958.

What we did

The aumbries were cleaned and given oak doors. The range was relined and now heats the room. Everything new, from the worktops to the shelves, is freestanding oak that can be lifted out without leaving a mark.
